Returning to Huntly: Delivering Emergency First Aid at Work Training

Project type

Returning to Huntly: Delivering Emergency First Aid at Work Training

Date

24th June 2026

Location

Huntly

At Go To First Aid Training, we love returning to the communities we work in, so it was fantastic to be back in Huntly recently to deliver our FAIB-accredited Emergency First Aid at Work course.

The training took place at the excellent Square Deal premises, operated by the Deveron Project, providing a convenient local venue for delegates to gain essential lifesaving skills without the need to travel.

Throughout the day, participants developed the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in a workplace emergency. The course covered all the essential first aid skills required by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), including:

Conducting a primary survey
CPR for adults
Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
The recovery position
Responding to choking emergencies
Managing seizures
Treating external bleeding
Caring for burns and scalds
Managing minor injuries and other common workplace incidents

As always, our focus was on practical, hands-on learning. We believe that the best way to build confidence is by giving everyone the opportunity to practise their skills in a supportive environment, using realistic scenarios that reflect situations they may encounter in the workplace.

Positive Feedback from Participants

It was a pleasure to train such an enthusiastic group, and we were delighted by the positive feedback received at the end of the course.

Participants commented on how interactive and engaging the training was, describing the course as well organised, professionally delivered and easy to follow. They appreciated that our trainers were knowledgeable, approachable and happy to provide advice tailored to the specific risks and situations found within their own workplaces.

The small group size also proved to be a real advantage, giving everyone plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and take part in practical exercises.

Another benefit highlighted by delegates was having the training delivered locally in Huntly, eliminating the need to travel while still receiving high-quality, accredited first aid training.

Many also commented on the enthusiasm and energy the trainers brought to the day, helping to create a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment where everyone felt comfortable participating.

Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the course for your enthusiasm, participation and willingness to get involved throughout the day. Seeing delegates leave feeling more confident and prepared to respond in an emergency is what makes our work so rewarding.

Supporting workplaces that are committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of their staff is exactly why we do what we do.
